2015 zog Choreografin Ceren Oran nach München. Eine Stadt, in der sie kaum jemanden kannte und die jetzt Heimat sein sollte. In ihrer im selben Jahr realisierten Produktion Heimat…los! erforschte sie mit den Künstlerinnen Nihan Devecioglu und Funda Özcan anhand der eigenen Migrationserfahrungen diesen Identitätsbruch zwischen ‚alter‘ und ’neuer‘ Heimat. Was und wo ist Heimat?
Zehn Jahre später greifen die Choreografin, die Sängerin und die Bildende Künstlerin auf das authentische Material der Uraufführung von Heimat…los! zurück. Ein Re-Staging, das gleichzeitig die Performance künstlerisch und gesellschaftspolitisch reflektiert – in einer Zeit, die geprägt ist von gesellschaftlichem Rechtsruck und kontroversen Perspektiven auf Migration.

In 2015, choreographer Ceren Oran moved to Munich for personal reasons. In Heimat…los! she reflects on her personal journey from Turkey to Central Europe.
In the performance Heimat…los! the artistic trio Ceren Oran & Moving Borders work together and use their authentic emigration backgrounds to conduct a global research about the difficulties of immigration and the disruption of identities found between the „old“ and the „new“ home. The project illuminates the invisible walls between western cultures and on the European map. Who decides who is legal? “No Person is Illegal”, but still every year everybody lines up infront of the door of a visa office every year hoping to be recognized as legal person for one more year having hundreds of questions in their heads about ‚home‘: What is home? Where is home? Is it the feeling of being in limbo or is it just not being able to arrive in a new home?
Over the past ten years, Oran’s understanding of ‚home‘ has shifted from a geographical location to relationships and inspiring encounters. By drawing on the material from 10 years ago, Oran aims to reflect on a time marked by a social shift to the right and controversial perspectives on migration.
After the performance Session 6: Dance & Migration will take place. Together with Ibrahim Bajo (musician) and Sandra Chatterjee (choreographer, dancer) as guests the panel aims to reflect on the artistic, social, and political changes in Germany over the past ten years. The panel will be moderated by Tuncay Acar.
Ceren Oran ist Tänzerin und Choreografin in München. Sie sieht den Tanz nicht nur als Kunstform, sondern auch als eine Form der Kommunikation. Deshalb ist ihre Arbeit von Unmittelbarkeit geprägt und sucht den direkten Kontakt zum Publikum.
Einerseits beschäftigt sie sich mit spezifischen Themen wie Identität, Heimat und der Schnelllebigkeit der Gesellschaft. Andererseits nehmen ihre Arbeiten oft eine reflektierende Meta- Perspektive ein, die spielerisch den Tanz und seine Relevanz in unserem Leben hinterfragt. Warum tanzen wir überhaupt? Was und wie kommunizieren wir mit dem Tanz und was können wir von ihm lernen? 2022 erhielt sie den Förderpreis Tanz der Stadt München.
