Is Susan lonely? erzählt als Tanzstück von der Idee eines besseren Selbst und dem Prozess sich dieser Idee anzunähern. Das Projekt betont die destruktive Natur eines idealen Selbst im Bezug auf unser Verhältnis zur Welt. Es wird untersucht, ob die Gespaltenheit mit uns selbst die Grundlage für Einsamkeit sein kann.

Aufgrund des erneuten Lockdowns in Deutschland und der Schließung aller Theater hat sich das Bühnenprojekt Is Susan lonely? neu orientiert und eine aufregende Verwandlung vollzogen. Jasmine Ellis Projects präsentiert eine kinematografische Erkundung von Tanz und Musik und eröffnet eine neue Perspektive auf Isolation und unsere Begegnung mit einem idealen Selbst. Anstelle der im HochX geplanten Aufführung wird ein 60-minütiger Film am 12. und 13. Dezember um 20 Uhr auf dringeblieben.de gestreamt, den Sie nun (un)angenehmerweise von Zuhause aus sehen können.

Der Soundtrack zu Is Susan lonely? wird am 18. Dezember 2020 veröffentlicht.

Is Susan lonely? is a dance piece about having an idea of a better you and the process of trying to move towards it. The project highlights the destructive nature of the concept of an ideal self to our relationship with the world. It examines whether division with one’s own self can be a basis of loneliness.

Due to the current lockdown in Germany and the closure of all theatres, the stage production Is Susan lonely? has pivoted and taken a beautiful turn. We are excited to present this cinematographic exploration into dance and music examining isolation and how we interface with our ideal self. Instead of the performance planned in HochX theatre, Munich, a 60-minute film will be streamed on December 12th and 13th at 8 pm on dringeblieben.de. You can watch from the comfort/discomfort of your own home!

Im Anschluss an die Online-Premiere am 12. Dezember 2020 lädt die Vermittlungsreihe Schau mer mal zum Künstler*innen-Gespräch auf Zoom ein. In ungezwungener Atmosphäre gewährt das künstlerische Team Einblicke in den Prozess von Is Susan lonely?. Das Gespräch findet auf Deutsch und Englisch statt, die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.
