FREISCHWIMMEN

Since 2020 HochX has been a member of the FREISCHWIMMEN network.

FREISCHWIMMEN is an international platform of production and exchange for young artists and groups working with theater and performance. It is sponsored by brut Wien, FFT Düsseldorf, Gessnerallee Zürich, HochX München, LOFFT – DAS THEATER Leipzig, Schwankhalle Bremen, Sophiensæle Berlin and Theater Rampe Stuttgart.

FREISCHWIMMEN offers single modules like residences, guest performances, workshop showings and laboratories which can be combined individually, depending on the needs of the artists and capacities of different houses.

The purpose of the modules is to enable young groups and artists to develop their own networks and get established on a local, regional and international level. The goal is to implement a space for experimentation, freed from the pressure for fast delivery, and to facilitate the long term work of building up new artists.

The 2020-2022 artist cohort was mostly selected through an Open Call. The following eight groups are now part of the network FREISCHWIMMEN:

CHICKS* performancekollektiv (Berlin), Gruppe CIS (Stuttgart), Die Soziale Fiktion (Bremen), Lau Lukkarila (Wien), Nina Mühlemann & Edwin Ramirez (Zürich), Sandra Chatterjee (München), Saskia Rudat (Düsseldorf), Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften (Leipzig)
